May, 21, 2024, Kenya’s President William Ruto praised CCI Global’s recently launched call center situated in Tatu City, noting that in the future, 20,000 Kenyans will be working for American companies remotely through the center. He said this during his US tour.
On May 10, 2024, the president launched the five story call center which has a sitting capacity of 5,000. During the launch, Martin Roe CEO of CCI Global, announced that the company will be expanding its operations in Kenya with a second center in Tatu City that will double it’s workforce in the near future.
“I am pleased to affirm Africa’s prominence as a top destination for call center operations, with Kenya emerging as a standout choice. Our decision to expand across Kenya reflects our profound confidence in the country’s thriving BPO industry and its capacity for sustained growth”
The CCI Call Center Launch not only joins a thriving community of commercial buildings in one of Kenya’s most successful Special Economic Zone, but it also joins a growing list of green commercial buildings in the country.
The Award winning facility has received recognition from African Property Awards and EDGE Green Building and Sustainability Excellence Associate Certifications. EDGE is one of the top Green Building certification bodies that focuses on resource efficient construction.
CCI’s contact center is part of ENEO development in Tatu City and it is set operate on 96% renewable energy – with solar panels, natural air corridors, and self-shading walls to mitigate carbon emissions involved in the call centre’s energy production and consumption. The Center also boasts large floor plates, suitable for outsourcing businesses and rapid lifts for efficient shift changes.
“Eneo at Tatu Central represents the pinnacle of BPO facilities, combining state-of-the-art amenities with green design principles and community involvement, to create a sustainable, dynamic, and thriving community hub,” said Greg Pearson, CEO and co-founder of GREA, the developer of Eneo at Tatu Central.
One more fun fact about the center is that it involved a cohort of 30 female construction workers outsourced from Buildher – a non-profit enterprise that trains women on technical construction skills. This inclusive approach to construction is a boost to Kenya’s marginalized female workforce in the built environment.
During the launch, president Ruto emphasized on the impact this center is going to have on Kenya’s Digital economy transformation. “It is evident that digital technologies have revolutionized service delivery worldwide – streamlining processes, transcending borders, significantly reducing transaction cost and reshaping business models. The scale of this transformation has been immense, impacting every sector of our economy,” said the President.
Digital Economic transformation is one of the key pillars in the current government’s Bottom Up Economic Model.
