Fullcare Medical (Kenya) a subsidiary of international company, Zhende Medical launched a new medical garment production facility in Tatu City on 28th, March 2024.
The facility represents USD 30 million worth of investment and it employs over 1,800 workers. The figure translates to Kshs 3.94 Billion as per the current exchange rate. According to an announcement by Tatu City, this facility represents the first phase of Fullcare’s expansion. Subsequent phases will inject more capital into the facility and employ over 7,000 people.
Products produced in the company will be exported to multiple continents while meeting local needs here in Kenya. Lu Jianguo, Founder of FullCare Medical said, the facility will produce and export goods worth USD 60 million annually. He further noted that the facility leverages cutting edge solar technology for sustainable manufacturing.
The launch comes after Zhende Medical announced its plan to expand its production in Kenya last year October, at a ceremony presided over by H.E. President William Ruto and H.E. Ambassador Liu Yuxi, Special Representative of the Chinese Government on African Affairs.
The company stated that they plan to invest USD 180 million in the long term while employing over 7,000 workers and export SUD 320 million annually. The recent launch is the first phase of this investment. Fullcare Medical will be joining over 78 entities at, Tatu City, cutting across multiple sectors – from beverage to logistics, education, healthcare and residential developments.
Tatu City is mixed-use Special Economic Zone (SEZ) that sits on 5,000 acres in the metropolitan Kiambu County. The The SEZ has not only transformed the location, but is also impacting both commercial and residential real estate significantly.

Businesses setting up at the SEZ enjoy several benefits which include, VAT zero-rating, import and stamp duty exemptions and 10% corporate tax for the first 10 years and 15% for 10 years thereafter.
